2009 Sauvignon Blanc
Oakville. In keeping with family tradition of growing Oakville, Sauvignon Blanc since 1987, Kelham Vineyards continues to immortalize this limited wine following the loss of the prized vineyard to Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. This vintage marks the third to last vintage that Kelham Vineyards will introduce Sauvignon Blanc in the age worthy and complex style customers have come to appreciate. Production of this wine uses barrel fermentation in new French oak, partial malolactic fermentation and aging in barrel for 10-months. This wine displays complex notes of citrus and honey, detail and structure from the classical, dry-farmed fruit, followed by a smooth, endless finish that defines the vineyards grape growing pedigree and unique style that is Kelham Vineyards. Our Sauvignon Blanc production ends with the 2012 vintage.
2005 Merlot
Oakville. It is with celebration and respect that Kelham Vineyard Merlot has followed the stylistic direction found in many of the finest wines of Pomeral in France. Here dryness, maceration, new French oak and time have composed a Merlot of the highest quality. This understanding of Merlot is unheard of in Napa Valley. It is our families intent to share this unique and mature Merlot. A classic bouquet of complex dark fruits with compliments of earth and forest. Having achieved almost 14 years age, balance and elegance fill the palate with purity of fruit and varietal character. The wines finish could be considered 99-100 points.
2011 St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon
St. Helena. As climate and geography have dictated, Napa Valley is considered one of the finest locations to grow Cabernet Sauvignon for the production of wine. We follow this opportunity with intent of being unique in our field. From the beginning Kelham Vineyards has produced wines of power with unparalleled complexity with mature charm. This was our intent when we released our 2011 Cabernet blend. Composed predominantly of Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine employs Merlot and Cabernet Franc for generosity, color and depth of character. A wine that speaks to a discerning and experienced palate, it exhibits Old World charm with the precision and vibrance that celebrates Cabernet Sauvignon grown in St. Helena.
